Vegas Trip

This post has been a long time coming, keep reading if you're planning a trip to Vegas or hoping to in the future!

We went to Vegas this past April which in my opinion was a perfect time to go. It wasn't too hot just yet with the perfect warm weather. We flew out on a Wednesday night after work and got there around 10PM PST. From there we checked into our first hotel which was the MGM Grand Last Vegas. and I absolutely loved it! The pool area was HUGE and so many drinks to choose from! The nightlife there was awesome as well but hello - it's Vegas! Our first full day was that Thursday where we checked out the MGM Grand Buffet for breakfast/lunch. The rest of the day was spent exploring the city, walking the strip and passing all of the other gorgeous hotels. That night our dinner was at Tom Colicchio's Craftsteak which is a very high scale restaurant. I ended up getting the 8oz Filet Mignon with a side of the white corn grits. Everything was delicious and the service was top notch!

The following day was Friday where we booked a day to check out the Grand Canyon with Viator beforehand. Viator is a travel company you can book through for any tours on your next vacation! I even looked into it for our past trip to Greece (more on that in my next blog post) The van picked us up at one of the other local hotels plus an additional two other groups. In total, our group was 9 people which was perfect for the full experience. The first stop was the famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign, from there Seven Magic Mountains, The Hoover Dam and lastly Grand Canyon which took us to the West Rim! It was a bucket list of my husband's and it truly did not disappoint. It was BREATHTAKING! If you're making a trip to Vegas and have time I would highly recommend checking out the Grand Canyon! The views are absolutely unreal and insane.

Saturday was the day I was most looking forward too! I booked tickets to see the Backstreet Boys in concert and to be honest, it was probably the best concert I've ever been to in my life. It might have been the fact it was in Vegas, but that show was FIRE. If you're staying in Vegas a must do is go to a show or concert. Trust me, you will thank me later. They were playing at Caesar's Palace which is a beautiful hotel! In my opinion, that one was my favorite. The scenery inside is gorgeous, we ended up walking through the hotel and taking it all in after the concert. Afterwards we tried to see the famous Fountains of Bellagio but those were closed off that night due to windy weather.

Pro tip: they go off every 30 minutes during the week and every 15 minutes on the weekend.

Sunday we made our way to our second hotel which was The World Resorts Las Vegas which is one of their newer hotels. This hotel was definitely more high scale and a lot of companies have conferences here. Once checked in to the hotel it was about lunch time so we ate at The Kitchen . This is a casual spot that serves both breakfast and lunch and overlooks the casino. I ordered the Tuna Salad Croissant which consists of housemade tuna salad, a buttery croissant, ripe red tomato, and arugula. One fun fact about me is that I LOVE tuna (judge me all you want) and this was one of my favorite dishes. The rest of the day was spent relaxing at the pool until dinner. Dinner was at Viva which to be honest I was not impressed with. The actual atmosphere and ambiance was gorgeous - I ordered the Enchilada de Pollo but the food was okay in my opinion.

Our last day there was actually a sandstorm so the pool area was closed. We hung out in the casino and got food again at The Kitchen. We aren't gamblers so exploring the hotel a bit more was in the cards and checking out the shops. Dinner was at an Asian Cuisine FUHO and OMG, this place is the cutest. I ended up just ordering noodles with chicken (Basic, I know) but my husband got the Traditional Roasted Half Duck. That plate came out SIZZLING y'all. The ambiance here is pure perfection and a gorgeous spot for date night.

In total, we were here for almost a week with our flight going back home on Tuesday. Vegas is more of a weekend trip but it was our first time here so we wanted to explore a bit. Now - go book a trip to Vegas and let me know where you end up staying/dining!

XOXO

Tay
